Summary

I work internationally with brands, governments, world leaders, artists, cultural organisations and more besides.

I’ve been responsible for and involved with some of the most ambitious live events, campaigns, architecture and entertainment in recent history.

A Little More Detail

Diplomacy; empathy; critical and strategic thinking; creative direction; creative development; technical direction and commercial direction. These are a few of the hard-earned and proven world-class skills I intertwine and will always be honing as I continue to:

  • conceive, create, procure, and produce live events and exhibitions,
  • research and develop tangible creative propositions, content and narratives,
  • find, nurture and develop creative talent and ideas,
  • write and edit marketing copy, scripts and more,
  • lead and support teams from 2 to 20,000, from different cultures, different countries and speaking different languages,
  • develop creative cross-channel marketing, content and media concepts and strategies,
  • craft, create and deliver compelling pitches, and funding / grant applications,
  • navigate, unravel and invent procurement and governance processes – client and contractor side, for teams undertaking creative ventures – with or without existing procurement teams
  • work out how to deliver on ambition and promises that have been made,
  • carve a way forward where there is no template or trodden path,
  • work with developers and architects on placemaking and regeneration,
  • and act as a reassuring sanity check and backstop.

I’m the bestselling author of the only definitive guide to conceiving, procuring and producing live: experiences, events, exhibitions, pavilions and entertainment – to create the greatest value and impact: “The Facts Of Live.”

My work has received acclaim at the highest levels of businesses and governments. I’m a speaker, occasional lecturer, ad-hoc adventurer and can often be found in the media.

Some career highlights are below. Beyond these there have been and still are countless other projects and roles around the world, from projecting artwork across mountains in Brazil through to working with companies on their business growth and IP development.
