Will Glendinning Writer

I Write.

Writing even a single letter can feel like an act of art - a thought made visible.

Writing is an odd thing to do in a life that is, ultimately, pointless. Thoughts vanish. Books disappear. So will we. So will the internet – despite its current confidence.

Still, I write – because shaping a thought makes a fleeting moment deliberate.

I’m visually and viscerally minded – so I like writing in ink, and usually start any writing that way.

Here on the interweb, pixels travel further, but the intent is the same.

Whether hand-scribed, printed, or sent to your inbox, my writing explores the moments that make life worthwhile. Find and create enough of them and the trouble feels worth it – in life, in work, and for the audiences we reach.

Beautifully Pointless.

Finding and creating moments actually worth having.

Strip everything back. Health keeps you alive – but alive for what? Wealth buys options – but options towards what? Reproduction continues the species – but to what end? Keep asking and everything collapses.

Unless we escape our solar system before the sun dies – beautifully, no doubt – nothing ultimately matters. Except beauty. Genuinely worthwhile moments don’t need to justify themselves. They just are. They’re not something you need to force or believe in, but feel and notice.

So I’ve spent my life finding and creating the only things that survive that realisation – moments genuinely worth being alive for.

Beautifully Pointless looks at how depth, presence and conscious elevation show up in what people find and create – and what changes when you treat those moments not as extras or reward, but as the whole point.

String these together, one beautiful moment to the next, and you have a life worth living – built around the moments themselves.

Not a cure. Not self help. The only honest reason I’ve ever found to be alive – and the only way to survive it, one worthwhile moment at a time.

Life is pointless. Make it beautiful.

The Facts Of Live.

Creating meaningful value and impact through live events, exhibitions and experiences.

Art is just art, sport just sport, a message just a message, products just products and music mere music – until you add an audience. Then you’re in the business of theatre – also known as live events.

The Facts Of Live is my bestselling book distilling decades of experience across live events, exhibitions and experiential work.

Whether you’re in the sport, entertainment, arts, marketing, communication, government or the not-for-profit business, creating the most value and impact with a live event, pavilion or exhibition starts at the beginning – with its genesis, the foundations that underpin it, and key principles: The Facts Of Live.

Journal & More.

Yes... more writing.

My journal is a home, here on my site for all the notes, thoughts and writing that has no other home.

Beyond a Beautifully Pointless, the book, various industry titles, articles and the occasional piece that probably shouldn’t have seen daylight, I write for brands, agencies, governments and cultural organisations – everything from bids and proposals to keynote speeches, scripts and marketing material.

Sometimes the words just flow, sometimes it’s agony – like life itself, all of this serves the same aim – finding and creating moments worth the effort. Visceral. Unforgettable. Felt.
